Aeolus, The lord of the winds, with his whiskers, hair, and beard billowing around him, gently blows bad spirits away. In the works of Homer, Aeolus controlled the winds and ruled the floating island of Aeolia. Specifically in the Odyssey, he gave Odysseus a favorable wind and a bag in which the unfavorable winds were confined. zephyr is the personification of the West Wind or very simply, a gentle breeze.
